St. Stephen’s Academy Reaches a Milestone
On Friday, June 11, 2010, St. Stephen’s Academy held its first commencement exercises, with three graduating seniors. This was the first full graduating class of St. Stephen's, which produced its first graduate in 2009.
The St. Stephen’s Academy Class of 2010 is made up of three students, two of whom who have been attending the school since its earliest days:
Ian Barnes, a St. Stephen’s student for eight years, has been accepted to several universities, including George Fox University, Greystone Preparatory School, Patrick Henry College and Warner Pacific College. He has been awarded a Merit Scholarship from Greystone.

Joshua Werner, who has attended St. Stephen’s for four years, has received a National Merit Commended Scholar award and an Alumni Association Scholarship for Grove City College.
Not only have these three students shown great academic achievement, they are the founding members of the St. Stephen’s Student Body Council, and have been involved in drama productions, debate, archery, athletics, music and other activities.
Mrs. Wendy Penner, who taught Humanities, Logic, Latin and Spanish at St. Stephen’s Academy from 2005-2008, was the commencement speaker. Her speech was titled, "A True Education." Mrs. Penner, a graduate of Seattle Pacific University, is nearing completion of her PhD in Christian Thought from Whitefield Theological Seminary.
